10/28 NEC Webinar: ‘COP26: Expectations, Challenges, and the Transition to a Net-Zero Economy’ with Stuart P.M. Mackintosh, Group of Thirty
October 28, 2021 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
‘COP26: Expectations, Challenges, and the Transition to a Net-Zero Economy’ with Stuart P.M. Mackintosh, Executive Director, Group of Thirty
Date: Thursday, October 28
Time: 12pm to 1pm EST
Drawing on his recent publication Climate Crisis Economics, Dr. Mackintosh will address climate change risks to the global economy as a result of over 30 years of failure to mitigate and enact policy response. As global leaders prepare to meet at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow this November, what is needed for the green transition to be electrified, accelerated, and amplified before the world reaches a climate tipping point of no return? We have less than a decade to bend the GHG emissions curve downward and ensure global temperature increases are limited to 1.5 degrees Celsius. With time running out, economics and business must play a role. Dr. Mackintosh will discuss what is necessary, urgent, and essential as the world comes together to construct Green Globalization 2.0.
REGISTRATION IS OPEN! Registration will remain open until 11am, Thursday, October 28, 2021. The link to the webinar will come in the registration confirmation email, not on the ticket email. If you do not receive a confirmation email or the event link by 11am the day of the event, please contact the NEC for that or any other questions at manager@national-economists.org.
