Professor Seamans will discuss his paper (Occupational Heterogeneity in Exposure to Generative AI with Ed Felten and Manav Raj), to analyze how generative Artificial Intelligence – including language modeling and image generation – has led many to question the effect of technology on the economy. He will review the profile of occupations most or least exposed to generative AI (including characteristics of the jobs), consider how demographic variation will impact exposure, and discuss the rapidity of its spread. Additionally, Professor Seamans will suggest how the government could play a role in helping people adapt to changes in generative AI.
Please Note: The link to the webinar will come in the ticket email. If you do not receive a ticket email or the event link by 11am the day of the event, please contact the NEC for that or any other questions at manager@national-economists.org.
